Vinegar.

  • For light carpet stains: Combine 2 tablespoons salt in 1/2 cup white vinegar. Let the solution dry, then vacuum.

  • For tough carpet stains: Combine 1 tablespoon vinegar with 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and rub it into the stain. Let it dry for a day, then vacuum.

To eliminate urine stains pour baking soda over the area, let dry and vacuum up remaining mixture. For grease stains, apply baking soda over area and gently scrub with brush to the affected area.
